Last year, 21-year-old Samantha Shannon's debut novel climbed to the top of the New York Times Best Seller list in less than a week. Since then, the futuristic story about a young "dreamwalker" imprisoned for her clairvoyant powers has been optioned for a feature film and read by thousands. As the book comes out in paperback this spring—with its sequel The Mime Order due out in hardback in just a few months—we're excited to have Shannon with us for a reading, signing and closer look at the fascinating characters and intriguing world she has just begun to introduce.
Samantha Shannon was born in west London in 1991. She started writing at the age of fifteen and graduated from St. Annes College, Oxford with a degree in English Language and Literature in 2013. The Bone Season is her first novel and has been sold in twenty-one countries. It is being developed for film by Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish at Imaginarium Studios.
