All Lined Up (Rusk University #1) by Cora Carmack

All Lined Up (Rusk University #1) by Cora Carmack

Review: Thanks to Cora Carmack, I was able to get an ARC of her new book, in return for an honest review.
You are able to tell by the first chapter how much work Carmack had put into her new book series and as you keep reading you are able to tell how much se has planned for the future books in the Ruck University series, with how much we see
some characters.
The main characters of this new series are Dallas Cole and Carson McClain. Who are both fighting and working their butts off to achieve their dreams. To me this is very inspiring since I'm off to college this summer, so I can get where I want to go in my life. Dallas and Carson are great inspirers to teens in about to finish high school or already in college and trying to just go through the motions. Which is what Dallas and Carson are doing till they can't ignore what's between them anymore and have to face the problems they have together and apart to help them develop into the world of adulthood.
I could not have been happier with the plot, characters and out come of the story soon far, and I can't wait to see what happens with Carson's teammates. And to see how Carson and Dallas are doing in the rest of the series!

Summary:
In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Review of The Hobbit (Middle-Earth Universe) by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Hobbit (Middle-Earth Universe) by J.R.R. Tolkien

Review: Yes, I finally read it and understand the pain of all of the readers of the series when they saw the movie. I really think Tolkien wanted to be a comedian while writing this book because of all the times Gandalf just has stuff to do and the anti-climatic stuff that just kept happening and no one questioned it! This book drove me nuts but I still loved it. Partly due to Martin Freeman being Bilbo Baggins and Benedict Cumberbatch being Smaug, because come on who is Not thinking of SHERLOCK through out the whole thing! I know I could not stop thing Smauglock, and some people think fangirls are not scary.
Anyway, Tolkien likes to drag down his readers with too much detail but only true fans and dedicated readers will be able to prevail. It also helps that the story plot is one of the most AMAZING ever written!

Summary: In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
Written for J.R.R. Tolkien’s own children, The Hobbit met with instant critical acclaim when it was first published in 1937. Now recognized as a timeless classic, this introduction to the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, the wizard Gandalf, Gollum, and the spectacular world of Middle-earth recounts of the adventures of a reluctant hero, a powerful and dangerous ring, and the cruel dragon Smaug the Magnificent

Review of Breathe (Sea Breeze #1) by Abbi Glines

Breathe (Sea Breeze #1) by Abbi Glines

Review: Another great fun read by Abbi Glines, it seems that she has done it again! I just don't know where Glines comes up with all these plot lines and great characters all the time. Sadie and Jax are no exception to her brilliance and story telling. By the end of the book readers will be left craving for more from the Sea Breeze group and will be anxious to see what happens to Jax and Sadie.
The plot is able to keep readers interested without getting too boring, sometimes just a little lull, but then it picks right back up again with the sweet love time Jax and Sadie are able to get in. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series, and cant wait to see what other great plots Abbi Glines has up her sleeves.

“This engrossing thriller packs a heady atmospheric punch with plenty of theatrical scares,” Kirkus Reviews
“Armentrout has written another winner. From the first page to the last, she builds both terror and confusion to the point where readers will be hooked and on the edge of their seat. This standalone contains all of Armentrout’s usual trademarks– a strong and determined heroine, witty comments and hot guys–but she adds in an extra layer by ratcheting up the suspense to the highest degree and follows it up with an ending no one will see coming.” RT BOOK REVIEWS 4 1/2 Stars TOP PICK

EXCERPT:
I didn’t recognize the name on the street sign. Nothing about the rural road looked familiar or
friendly. Tall, imposing trees and overgrown weeds choked the front of the dilapidated home.
Windows were boarded up. There was a gaping hole where the front door had been. I shivered,
wanting to be far away from here…wherever here was.
Walking felt harder than it should be, and I stumbled off the chilly asphalt, wincing as
sharp gravel dug into my feet.
My bare feet?
I stopped and looked down. Chipped pink nail polish peeked through the dirt…and blood.
Mud caked the legs of my pants, leaving the hems stiff. It made sense, seeing as how I wasn’t
wearing any shoes, but the blood…I didn’t understand why there was blood staining the knees of
my jeans.
My vision clouded and dulled, as if a gray film had been dropped over my eyes. As I
stared at the weathered asphalt under my feet, large and smooth rocks replaced the tiny stones.
Something dark and oily seeped over the rocks, slipping through the cracks.
Sucking in a sharp gasp, I blinked and the image was gone.
Hands trembling, I raised them. They were also covered with dirt and scratches. My nails
were broken, bloodied. A silver ring wrapped, encased in soil, around my thumb. Air froze in my
chest as my gaze crawled over my arms. The sleeves of my sweater were torn, revealing pale
flesh covered in bruises and gashes. My legs started to shake as I swayed forward. I tried to
remember how this had happened, but my head was empty—a black void where nothing existed.
A car drove by, coasting to a stop a few feet in front of me. Somewhere in the trenches of
my subconscious, I recognized the flashing red and blue lights as a source of safety. Elegantly
scrawled along the black-and-gray side of the cruiser were the words ADAMS COUNTY SHERIFF’SDEPARTMENT.
Adams County? A flash of familiarity came and went.
The driver’s door opened, and a deputy stepped out. He said something into the radio on
his shoulder before he looked at me.
“Miss?” He started around the cruiser, taking tentative steps. He looked young for a
deputy. Barely out of high school and able to carry a gun seemed wrong somehow. Was I in high
school? I didn’t know. “We’ve received some calls into dispatch concerning you,” he said
gently. “Are you okay?”
I tried to respond, but only a hoarse squeak came out. Clearing my throat, I winced as the
motion scratched and pulled. “I…I don’t know.”
“Okay.” The deputy held up his hands as he approached me, as if I were a skittish deer
about to bolt. “My name is Deputy Rhode. I’m here to help you. Do you know what you’re doing
out here?”
“No.” Knots formed in my belly. I didn’t even know where here was.
His smile strained. “What’s your name?”
My name? Everyone knew their name, but as I stared at the deputy, I couldn’t answer his
question. The knots started twisting more. “I don’t…I don’t know what my name is.”
He blinked, and the smile was completely gone. “You don’t remember anything?”
I tried again, concentrating on the empty space between my ears. That was how it felt.
And I knew that wasn’t good. My eyes started to tear up.
“Miss, it’s okay. We’ll get you taken care of.” He reached out, lightly taking hold of my
arm. “We’ll get this sorted.”
Deputy Rhode led me around the back of his cruiser. I didn’t want to sit behind the
Plexiglas, because I knew that wasn’t good. Only bad people sat behind the glass in police
cruisers. I wanted to object, but before I could say anything, he settled me into the seat and
wrapped a coarse blanket around my shoulders.
Before he locked me in the bad part of the car, he knelt and smiled reassuringly.
“Everything’s going to be okay.”
But I knew he was lying, trying to make me feel better. It didn’t work. How could
everything be okay when I didn’t know my own name?

Review of The Value of X (Rickey and G-Man #1) by Poppy Z. Brite

The Value of X (Rickey and G-Man #1) by Poppy Z. Brite

Review: Very interesting read, nothing quite like I have ever read before and can't wait to read more of. The story is down to earth with problems that real world people really go through, such as coming out of the closet, dealing with others harsh view of your life, and making a relationship work through all of theses, with the added bonus is long distance. Rickey and Gary are very much in love and best friends, this is what makes the story so intriguing. It also makes it hard to put the book down or slow down while reading it to make it last.

Review of Alanna: The First Adventure (Song of the Lioness #1) by Tamora Pierce

Alanna: The First Adventure (Song of the Lioness #1) by Tamora Pierce

Review: Ok, so one of my friends got me this book just so I would finally read. Don't get me wrong I love books, I love holding them, taking care of them, and reading them more than anything. But this does not mean I want to read every single book ever written, just cause you liked the book and I love to read, does not mean I want to read it.
This book though, was very good, I quite loved it and wish to read the rest of the series because Alanna is very badass. This still does not mean I want to read everything or have time to read everything that people recommend to me. But for this friend of mine I will read any and everything she gives me to read, it just might take some time but I will read it.
Anyway, I'm done ranting and praising my friend. On to the book! Where was I, Oh! That's right Alanna the badass, well she certainly is for being a preteen and a girl. Because if your looking for inspirational female characters look no further, Alanna is your girl, or should I say boy. Since she dresses and pretends to be her brother to learn to be a knight. This may not seem like an original story plot, for a girl to pretend to be a boy/ her brother to get what she so desperately wants. Though this book will make you think differently and is able to give its own twist and turns to the plot to set up for further novels in the story of Alanna.

Summary: In a time when girls are forbidden to be warriors, Alanna of Trebond wants nothing more than to be a knight of the realm of Tortall. But the road to knighthood, as she discovers, is not an easy one. Alanna must master weapons, combat, and magic, as well as polite behavior, her temper, and even her own heart.

Review of (Howl's Moving Castle #1) by Diana Wynne Jones

(Howl's Moving Castle #1) by Diana Wynne Jones

Review: Not what I was expecting after seeing the movie. Which I know is awful to assume, since everyone knows that the book is always right and better then the movie, which this is.
The book really changes how you saw the characters before, some in a bad way and others in a great way. Jones is able to flip everything that she sets up for her readers in the beginning of the book and have you pulling at your hair with frustration. But she does add the moments that keep you smiling and laughing at Sophie and Howls bickering and other antics toward one another.
By the end of the book you wont be able to keep the tears of happiness and love that you feel for the characters at bay any longer. Even though the book and the award winning movie cant be even more different, they both add to old of the most beloved story's ever told.

Review of Wallbanger ( Cocktail #1) by Alice Clayton

Wallbanger (Cocktail #1) by Alice Clayton

Review:There is so much hype about this book, so I finally broke down and bought it. It is everything and more then any hype could dream of surrounding. I still cant believe how fast the chapters went by when reading it, I still wish I was reading it for the first time again. The book is really this great guys, I mean I stayed up till 4am reading it and laughing so hard I was crying. I don't know about anyone else, but I haven't stayed up this late to read a good book in about a year and a half.
Anyway back to the awesomeness of the book, the main character Caroline is a hoot. First, she talks about herself, her body, and parts of her body in different persons, making you think she's nuts for giving all of these their own personalities. Secondly, her cat thinks he is the bomb that no one can resist. And finally, she wont stop sniffing the SWEATER!!! You will only find out what this means when you read the book, trust me, you will pee yourself it's so funny.
Also the other main character Simon Cough* the most sexiest, clever, smart mouth MAN ever* Cough. Once he is introduced into the book, you'll have to keep fanning yourself because how he is described is all OMG the time. He also is a great character to balance out Caroline and together they are an amazing couple and main characters that will leave you breathless with how much they fit together and how hilarious they are when ever near each other.
Alice Clayton knows what she is doing, and where she is going with her characters. This is one of the authors you will just have to put all your faith into because there will never come a time to doubt her.

Summary: The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she's gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy's athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly...

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Movie Review: WOW, the movie stays true to the plot after the Avengers and continues on with Steve Rogers live and how he's trying to catch up with the times and struggling with what true freedom is. The black widow becomes a friend that has that older sister vibe and gains more depth to her character and to her story/ role in the series. Sam Wilson is introduced and become one of THE coolest wing men ever (pun intended). Old characters who were once thought dead ( three in counting) come back into the plot to muck everything up and others to add some spice. The best action scenes of all this years movies were added to Winter Soldier to make it one of the most intense movie of ever ( Fury has one of the coolest fights scenes) . Also the hot bods from the Captain and The winter soldier help girls stay focused and appreciate how the actors got in shape for the movie. Stan Lee was allowed to have his cameo again, and Marvel gives the best two after clips that leave you hanging.
P.S- can't wait to see more of the mutants in the next Avengers!

Divergent

Divergent

Movie Review: The movie was GREAT! Theo James did an amazing job as Four and brought more depth to the relationship between him and Tris. The chemistry between Theo James and Shailene Woodley was one of the best parts of this movie, there is so much more between these two then in the hunger games or the twilight series. Though the movie was not completely true to the book and left out how some things were done, they did a good substitute for those scenes. One big problem I had with the movie was that some major key planning characters were left out, BUT you do see someone who could be this missing character even though he never says his name.hey do not put all of Tris's fears in the movie and therefore don't do the cute moment with Tris and Four, when they are like 6 and 4 together. Also Veronica Roth makes a nice cameo during the zip line scene, which was really cool by the way. All the actors did an amazing job portraying their characters and bringing this book to life, and now they have the green light to make the next two films.
P.S- I saw another review of this movie by some guy that works for a newspaper and I just have to talk about. I hope most of you have read the series or are going to, but please don't get confused about Tris's fear with Four in the movie, she is afraid of INTIMACY with him. The reviewer I was talking about thought she was afraid of rape but over came it by being a strong women and saying no and kicking butt, that is not what it means! But his idea of this moment in the movie is still a good point say no to rape.

4 and half stars out of 5.

Trust in Me (Wait for You #1.5) by J. Lynn

Trust in Me (Wait for You #1.5) by J. Lynn

Review: I totally thought that Wait for you the first book in the series could not have gotten any better than it already was, but I was wrong, so wrong. The story gets even sweeter told from Cams point of view, its so much more romantic because you finally get to read about how Cam falls Avery and the things he thinks about to make Avery trust in him. I'm pretty sure I cried a couple of time while reading the book because of how adorable Cam was and about a lot of the things he said when Avery wasn't in ear shot of him. The last thing I have to say about this book is that it does not disappoint!

Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles #1) by Sophie Jordan

Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles #1) by Sophie Jordan

Review: Not what I was expecting from Sophie Jordan, but it was still a good read. the book does have its faults, like boring names for the main characters, but it doesn't stop you from falling in love with Reece the bartender. He was the best character in the whole book because he could go from bad ass to kick ass with a snap of your fingers.I just loved how awesome he was and dreamy. The over all plot was ok but nothing to great, but there is lots of hope for the next in the series.

Cress (The Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer

Cress (The Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer

Review: The Lunar Chronicles series gets better and better as the books progress. Cress so far is the best book out of the series and while reading it the plot and the characters actually seem to be getting somewhere finally. Even as the books keeping introducing new characters and going in to more depth with old characters, you are still able to put together the pieces of the story time line and what might happen in the next and final book in the series "Winter" which will be coming out next year hopefully. But this book in the series adds more action and a little more romance then readers are used to seeing in the series, but it just add to the Marissa Meyer's brilliance at writing.

Remy (Real #3) by Katy Evans

Remy (Real #3) by Katy Evans

Review: WOW, just WOW. Didn't think that Katy Evans could write anything hotter or jaw dropping than the first two books in he series but I was wrong. Remy is told from the point of view from Remy ( if you couldn't figure that out from the title), and its his view on their present day lives and goes back to how he saw and thought through the first two books in the series. This way readers wouldn't just be reading the first book again, but experiencing Brook and Remy's lives together in a whole new way, that still has readers smiling and crying in the end.

Summary: Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.

Through it all, there’s been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he’s ever had to fight for.

Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3) by Tahereh Mafi

Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3) by Tahereh Mafi
Review: All three of these books in the Shatter Me series are insane and intense! Ignite Me, does not disappoint or let down anyone's expectations of the finale book in the series. The author Tahereh Mafi, does an amazing job changing the plot and the characters of the story without damaging them to the readers. I cant even begin to express how amazing this book was. But I'll try my hardest. Juliette becomes confident and empowered in this book and she finally starts to fight back and for herself. The book sends strong messages about fighting for what you believe in and sticking with your friends. It also has Juliette choosing for herself between Adam and Aaron, and getting control over all of her powers and finally having physical contact.
